Inaugural Lecture Mineke Bosch
Prof. Dr. Mineke Bosch
On August 1st, 2007 Mineke Bosch was appointed professor at the special chair ‘Gender and Science’ at the Center for Gender and Diversity, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University Maastricht.
The chair was installed as a result of the board of the university’s policy, adopted in 2005, to have more women professors appointed. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences connected this plan to its own research policies to install more ‘development chairs’.
Mineke Bosch gave her Inaugural Lecture, The load of legacy. Gender and the culture of memory in science, on October 4, 2007 in the St. Jan’s Church at the Vrijthof in Maastricht. The Inaugural Lecture is available in PDF under the following link.
At the same time the lecture functioned as the opening lecture of the festival WISER, Women in Education, Science and Research, which took place in Maastricht on the 4th and 5th of October.
